Important Information / Please Read Carefully

URGENT NOTICE REGARDING CONNECTION OF YOUR WATER SERVICE

You have asked that the City of Lubbock (the "City") to connect your water service.

PLEASE NOTE: The City assumes that all your pipes and fixtures are working correctly. Before the City connects your water service, it is your responsibility to ensure all water faucets, fixtures, and handles in and around your business are turned to the off position. This could include, but is not limited to: sprinklers, toilets, washing machines, dishwashers, ice makers, water heaters, humidifiers, and outdoor hoses.

If the city turns on your water and:

Any pipes or fixtures are broken/faulty...

You might get a leak

Any faucets or other fixtures are left on...

Water will flow through them and might cause flooding

The City is not responsible for any damage to your property from broken/leaky pipes, fixtures, or open faucets when the water is connected.

Water Deposit Information

A $550 water deposit will be added to your business's first bill.

If your business makes 12 back-to-back on-time payments, the deposit will be automatically refunded as a credit on the 13th bill.

Transferring Water Service Within Lubbock

If your business is moving to a new location in Lubbock and needs to transfer City of Lubbock Utilities (COLU) water service, deposit requirements will depend on your payment history:

If your business has already paid a COLU water deposit, you will not need to pay another deposit.
If your business has a strong payment history for the past 12 months--meaning no late fees, service disconnections, or tampering fees-- you will need to pay a deposit or provide additional documents.
If your business has had late or missed payments in the past 12 months and has not previously paid a water deposit, a $550 deposit will be added to the first bill at the new address
